Singapore will play home to the inaugural FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Asia this year thanks to a three-year agreement between FIBA and Sport Singapore. From September 21st to 24th, 2019, the Singapore Sports Hub will host the 33rd annual competition.

The September tournament will feature an expanded field of six teams, with one coming from China thanks to a collaborative selection by FIBA and the Chinese Basketball Association. The other four teams will continue to represent the same four continental divisions as in the previous two tournaments. FIBA has yet to reveal the identity of the sixth player.
