After Portugal’s victorious match against Uruguay’s team, there appeared to be some confusion on who actually scored the goal.
Following the match between the Portugal team and the Uruguay team, which saw the Portugal side take the victory crown with a score of 2-0 in their favor, there appeared to be some confusion. This, incidentally, is with regards to who was actually responsible for scoring the winning goal. It all began with the supposed admission by Bruno Fernandes that, in his personal opinion, he strongly felt that it was ultimately Cristiano Ronaldo, who happened to have been instrumental in scoring the match-winning goal.
According to his keen sense of observation, he had made the intentional pass toward Ronaldo, who then succeeded in tapping it right into the goalpost. He went on to say that in his mind, it could have been a touch from any part of Ronaldo’s body, but the fact remained that it was him, not Bruno, who deserved to be credited.
Somehow or another, he was absolutely not prepared to accept the fact that he was in any way responsible for the goal. In fact, after Portugal won the game, there were some whispers that the credit should be given to Cristiano Ronaldo. However, on rethinking and re-studying, the general assumption was made that whatever the sequence of events, the entire credit should correctly go to Fernandes.

Following this air of confusion and general disagreement, Fernandes attempted, from his end, to present a clear picture to all parties involved. In his opinion, he made the intended pass to Ronaldo, who then appeared to glance it toward the goalpost and ended up scoring the goal itself. According to him and pertaining to his overall experience, it is always the last player who tackles the ball, however insignificantly, who is solely responsible for the goal scored.
He went on to say that if his recollection of the game that was played serves him correctly, he actually saw Ronaldo turn the ball in an efficient and expert manner past the obstruction created by the goalkeeper of Uruguay, Sergio Rochet, all of which occurred in the 54th minute of the legendary game.
However, the controversial element began and ended with the fact that, in the understanding of the concerned officials connected with the game, the ball happened to have floated above the very head of Ronaldo, though he tried his level best to connect with the ball and guide it into the goal post. However, the fact that Portugal was able to advance to the next round of the World Cup is what has allowed them to emerge victorious from all of this.
