Do you have a pet that sheds? Do you always want to play with these cuddly, cute furry babies but don’t have the time to clean up all the hair they shed?
You can take steps to keep your pet but still keep your home clean. One of these steps includes investing in a vacuum robot for pet hair. These vacuums clean your home without needing to move a finger. Your pet stays in your home, and you don’t have to clean up after them.
The first thing most people think of when they hear Roomba is a vacuum that cleans your carpets. It’s true, but the vacuum has evolved since it was first released years ago. While it still cleans your carpets, Roomba can also clean hard floors and your car and even mop for you. The iRobot Roomba s9+ is one of their latest models and has some very cool features.
Why iRobot Roomba s9+ is Good for Pet Hairs
To understand why the s9+ makes a great cleaning buddy when you have pets, let’s see some of its characteristics:
Design
The S9+ has a D-shape, similar to Neato’s models, but different from iRobot i7+, which is circular. The bot’s dust bin is covered by a metal lid, and the top left corner of the black plastic frame houses the sensitive control buttons.
The D-straight shape’s portion includes a shiny strip to give it a more sophisticated appearance. The curved part contains holes with a motor hidden behind them. The top has camera and detector technologies. There are two green brushes underneath, along with a corner brush for cleaning nooks and crannies that are more difficult to access.
Sophisticated Features
Some of the standout features of Robot Roomba s9+ include:
- Automatic Dirt Disposal (30 bins)
- vSLAM navigation technology
- 3-Stage Cleaning System
- Imprint Smart Mapping
The automatic dirt disposal is the flagship of the product. It is the reason why it became the talk of the town when it was first launched. With this feature, the bot goes to the base and empties out the bin when it’s already full. Once done, it will return to where it left off to finish cleaning the area.
Meanwhile, the vSLAM mapping technology is responsible for mapping the room. It has a sensor and processing chip to accurately map the house. It collects thousands of data points per second to help the bot chart its way without any disturbance.
If you want to select and name the area that you want the bot to clean, you can do that using Imprint Smart Mapping. Using this feature, you can designate the limitations where the bot is contained to clean. It also allows you to program the time when the bot will clean a particular area, say 4pm, in the kitchen.
Lastly, the Perfect Edge Technology allows the bot to clean edges and corners. The bot uses a three-stage cleaning program to thoroughly clean these spots. This feature is also responsible for increasing the vacuuming power of the bot when it enters the carpeted area. This way, the s9+ can suck pet hair stuck in the carpet.
Easy to Use
The iRobot app is very user-friendly and has a straightforward interface. It only takes a few minutes to install. After which, you can already use it to schedule and control the iRobot S9+. When the S9+ first starts cleaning, the cleaner will map out your house. However, once it has gathered enough information, the map will be available on the program.
Once the map is stored, you may add room names, dividers, and clean and keep-out zones. Previous iRobot models needed a different laser device to add a keep-out zone. With s9+, this is no longer required, which makes things much simpler. For instance, you may select a specific spot to clean in the clean zone, like your bed.
Performance
The iRobot S9+ not only talks the talk but also walks the walk when performance is concerned. However, avoid using it if your baby is asleep or when you are in a Zoom meeting because it is pretty noisy and doesn’t have a dedicated quiet mode like some ‘bots. Even so, it is still considerably quieter than a conventional vacuum cleaner.
Other than that, the S9+ operates well. During the test, the bot cleaned the floor downstairs. The surface is a combination of tiles, wood floors, and carpets. It has no trouble switching between the different floor types. It easily adjusts to a slightly higher level in the kitchen and stairs.
While the s9+’s performance is flawless for routine cleaning, it’s not well suited for thorough cleaning. That being said, you don’t need to do thorough cleaning often if you let the bot do its job daily.
The fact that there are few items on the floor in our house is another thing we’d like to mention because it improves performance and cuts down the working time. The S9+, or any robot vacuum cleaner, may not be the best option if your house has a lot of clutter. It dislikes wires and small objects.
Final Note
If you have one of the pets that sheds a lot, then you know how hard it can be to keep your house looking clean. While getting your pet groomed and clipping their hair regularly is a great way to control shedding, it can be expensive and time consuming.
A great solution to this problem is the iRobot Roomba s9+ robot vacuum. This model uses advanced patented technology to detect dirt and automatically vacuum up to ensure the carpet is cleaned of dust and pet hair, so you can spend less time cleaning and more time with your pets.
